Cast In A Positive Light

Some photos stay in my mind for a very long time after I take them. Here is a photo I took several years ago. Visiting friends I brought along my old Yashica 12 a Twin Lens Reflex camera very simple and nice to use. I still have it although it doesn't get out much. The photo languished in an envelope for many years because I hadn't exposed it quite properly and Sarah was very dark in the photo. As I learned different things to do with photos on the computer I would sometimes think back to this photo and try new ideas. Eventually I came up with this. I was looking at it the other night and I saw something else I want to try.....

Sarah I am glad you enjoyed this photo.

The Light At The End Of The Tunnel

The West Coast Railway Heritage Park is the kind of place that if you even sort of like trains you could go spend hours. Just going by memory it includes a station, A workshop (rather large as they restore/repair railcars and engines), a roundhouse with a working turntable, plus a decent sized yard with several tracks. I've been there several times in the past but those visits were to go look and I happened to have a camera. The other day Dar and I went with the cameras and visited with the intent to take photos. We did get lots of pictures and we were able to think about other ones we would like to take. Sometime in the not too distant future we will be back to try out those other ideas.
At first when you look out in the yard it can seem kind of sad to see railcars in such a state of disrepair. The thing to remember is they are waiting their turn to be restored to their former glory.
